Zoo Animal Fun Day at Farmers Market Draws Huge Crowd

If you were anywhere near downtown Herndon late morning on Thursday, you may have wondered what the huge crowd was, filling and spilling out of Town Square.

It was a bunch of exotic animals! Thursday was another of the Town's new Farmers Market Fun Days. This week's theme was "Zoo to You," as a team of animal experts brought live zoo animals to show off to local kids and their parents on the Town Square.

Young children marveled over the snakes, exotic birds, an anteater and even one huge lizard, which one team member walked through the huge crowd to offer an up-close look.

"Zoo to You" appeared to be a huge hit, as hundreds turned out for the show, filling every inch of grass in the Town Square and even spilling out into the farmers market and sidewalks.
