Jeremy Hall's wife remembers slain correctional officer (wdbj7.com) — Residents in and around Independence are mourning Master Corrections Officer Jeremy Hall, remembered by his wife Dawn for his kindness and bravery after he was killed protecting a nurse at River North Correctional Center. Living on a Grayson County farm near Elk Creek, Hall had just begun building his dream life before the November 17 incident. Community support and a GoFundMe are now helping his family carry on his legacy.
