On Jan. 4, a homeowner in the 3000 block of Seminole Road in Lake Ridge reported an attempted burglary to police.
The homeowner told police that someone had tried to enter the house between 8 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2011 and 8 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2012, most likely through a basement window.
When police investigated at 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 4, they found that no one had entered the residence, and no items were reported missing.
