Authorities Investigating House Fire in Lake Ridge

Authorities believe someone tried to break into the residence and set a fire.

A joint investigation is underway between the Prince William County police deparment and the Fire Marshal's Office to indentify who may be responsible for a fire that was "intentionally set."

Fire and rescue units responded to a two-story single-family home in the 12100 block of Park Shore Court in Lake Ridge Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. 

"After the fire was extinguished by fire and rescue personnel, further investigation revealed someone attempted to break and enter the residence and intentionally set a fire," said fire department public information specialist Kim Hylander in a press release.

No injuries were reported. According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damage estimate is $10,000. 

Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue also responded to a fire that was in Woodbridge.
