Woman Charged With Falsely Summoning Police in Lake Ridge

Prince William County Police determined that the call was related to a dispute with her landlord.

Police charged a Lake Ridge woman with falsely summoning the police after she reported a burglary and police determined that there had been no burglary, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Erica Brown, 26, of Carolyn Forest Drive, was arrested Wednesday. Her court date is unavailable, and she is being held on a $1,500 secured bond.

Police responded to Carolyn Forest Drive on Wednesda at 3:44 p.m. for the report of a burglary in progress.

"A resident, later identified as the accused, reported to police that she rents out the top portion of the residence and could hear voices in the separate basement resident area," Perok said. "Responding officers recognized the address and caller as someone who has called police multiple times over the past few days about a landlord tenant dispute going on at the residence. Officers arrived at the home and determined that a burglary had not taken place but rather this was a continuation of the same dispute."
