2 Dead After Motorcycle Crashes Into Truck, Horse Trailer In Aldie: Police

ALDIE, VA — Two people died on Saturday in an Aldie crash involving a motorcycle, an SUV, a pickup truck, and a horse trailer, authorities said.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said 61-year-old Thomas Miller of West Virginia and 68-year-old Pedro J. Sera-Leyva of Leesburg died in the crash. Miller was driving the motorcycle while Sera-Leyva was driving the SUV.

The driver of the pickup truck, who authorities did not identify, received treatment at a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. No horses were injured in the crash, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on Sunday on James Monroe Highway at Tail Race Road, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators believe the motorcycle crossed into oncoming and ran into the truck. The collision caused the truck to crash into the SUV, according to a police report.

"The Virginia State Police and Loudoun County Animal Services assisted at the scene," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "The crash is under investigation at this time."
