Leesburg representative Lauren Shernoff successfully pushed a change that keeps current rules for one year while directing staff to craft a new, ā€œinstructional suitabilityā€-focused policy for future transfers, potentially reshaping how and why students can move schools.

ā€¢ Loudoun Impact Fund and Creighton Gives Team Up to Award $246K in Nonprofit Grants (loudounnow.com) ā€” Loudoun Impact Fund and Creighton Gives have pooled $246,000 to support 29 nonprofits, including a grant to expand a Leesburg farm that employs and trains adults with disabilities. The grants back programs for youth, seniors, and people with disabilities across Loudoun County, from food assistance and housing repairs to mental health and job training. Local donors and businesses helped more than double last yearā€™s impact.
