27th Annual Ida Lee Park Easter Egg Hunt Is Nigh

When is an easter egg hunt not an easter egg hunt? Head out to Ida Lee Park in Leesburg later this month and you'll find the answer.

LEESBURG, VA—When is an easter egg hunt not an easter egg hunt? Head out to Ida Lee Park at 60 Ida Lee Drive NW noon-3 p.m. April 13 and you'll find the answer. To be sure, a hunt will be held, but the 27th annual Leesburg Parks and Recreation department's easter egg hunt also will feature a jumbo slide, bounce houses, obstacle courses, other family friendly amusements and an opportunity for photos with the venerable Easter Bunny himself—or herself? Whatever.

More than 15,000 eggs filled with candy and special prizes will be hidden throughout the grounds for kids ages 1-6. Each hunt will be age specific: one for the 1 and 2-year-olds, one for 3-year-olds, one for 4-year-olds and one for 5 and 6-year-olds. One parent or guardian will be allowed to assist kids 2 and younger, and all other age groups are on their own. Each hunt will have a "grand prize" that can be redeemed for a basket full of candy, prizes and toys.

Tickets are $10 per child ($5 for non-hunter who just want to participate in the other festivities). Click here for more information and pre-registration. Parking will be available in the front fields off North King Street (business Route 15).
