AARP TaxAide service in Loudoun County is looking for volunteers to work at the Cascades library and Falcons Landing sites.
We help retired and low- to moderate-income taxpayers avoid preparation fees, electronic filing fees and pitches for high-interest tax credit or refund loans. Last year over 1000 taxpayers used our services in Loudoun County. We train and IRS-certify volunteers each year to ensure they are knowledgeable about revisions to the U.S. tax code and ethical standards.
Volunteers are requested to work 2 shifts per week from Feb- April 15. The Cascades Library site operates M & W – 5 pm to 8 pm; Tu & Th 10 am – 2 pm and the Falcons Landing site operates M, Th & S 1-5 pm If you are good with numbers and with using computer software please consider becoming a tax counsellor. If you enjoy interacting with people please consider becoming a greeter and facilitator.
Additionally, we also have a demand for bilingual speakers. If you are interested, register at www.aarp.org/taxaide or call 703-791-9147 and we will contact you to get you started.
