October 10, 1927 – June 6, 2013

With the very dignity and grace she displayed throughout her life, Anna L. Mock, 85, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013, in South Bend, IN. Born in Brunswick, Maryland, Anna was a longtime resident of Leesburg, VA, until moving to South Bend, Indiana in 2010, where she quickly and comfortably made Indiana her second home. Her final journey will see her return back home to Leesburg, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard, who predeceased her in 2006.

Anna, born the fourth and youngest daughter of Thomas and Anna Longbrake, was predeceased by her three elder sisters Frances, Gertrude, and Grace. A wonderful and loving wife, Anna was a mother of two, son Richard (Peggy) Mock of South Bend, IN, and daughter Anne (Daniel) Fox of Leesburg, a grandmother of six, Stephanie (Mike) Jackson, Benjamin (Lauren) Fox, Emily Mock, Sarah Fox, and Marshall and Spencer Mock, and a great grandmother of three, Ambrielle, Timothy, and Leah Jackson, all of whom survive her.

Anna had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. She was a great audience, when anyone would tell a joke, good or bad; they could always count on at least one laugh in the room with Anna. She was a warm and caring person who had many friends.

Anna had a variety of interests over her lifetime: singing in the church choir, playing piano and organ, and she enjoyed listening to many types of music. Anna loved to watch sports. She and Richard were longtime Washington Redskin season ticket holders. Anna loved to travel, with Bermuda and Hawaii being two of her favorite destinations. Anna loved fashion, clothes, shoes, and jewelry were her favorites, and she wore them well. Anna was always “dressed to the nines.”

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday July 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg. Anna’s family would be honored if you can attend.

Anna was loved by all who knew her, and she will be sorely missed. Anna’s last request for family, friends, or anyone reading about her life for the first time was that you offer some act of kindness to someone on her behalf.
