Assault Reported At Leesburg's Loudoun County High School: Police

The Leesburg Police Department is investigating an assault that was reported at Loudoun County High School on Friday.

LEESBURG, VA — An assault was reported at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg on Friday, according to a report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Authorities said that a staff member at the school told the school resource office about an assault allegation. The reported assault took place on Friday and involved two students, police reported.

The Leesburg Police Department did not release any further information about the assault on Friday. Officials said that the assault allegation is being investigated by members of the Criminal Investigation Section in coordination with Loudoun County Public Schools.

Michelle Luttrell is the principal at Loudoun County High School. "As always, the safety of all Loudoun County Public Schools students and employees is our highest priority," Luttrell wrote. She did not provide any further details about the reported assault.

Friday's reported assault is the latest in a series of incidents at schools in Loudoun County in the past year.

In May, a male student at Stone Bridge High School was accused of assaulting another student in a bathroom. In October, the same boy was accused of sexually assaulting a different student in an empty classroom.

The boy was convicted in both cases, and sentenced to a locked residential program until he turns 18.

In October, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation after a student was accused of inappropriately touching other boys at Harmony Middle School in Hamilton. After the investigation was completed, the case was turned over to the county's juvenile court services. No charges have been publicly announced.
