‘Wake Up, Loudoun’: Rally Calls for Clean Energy Policies
A co-op of activist groups, some on an 100-mile trek, expressed concerns about climate control and dependency on fossil fuels.

A large group of activists gathered Tuesday at the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg to urge the Board of Supervisors to implement the Loudoun Energy Strategy approved by the previous board.
The “Wake Up, Loudoun” rally came during a stop on a 100-mile “Walk for Our Grandchildren” trek intended as a call to action to government leaders at all levels. Participants in the rally included St. James UCC minister Don Prange, local and regional participants in the “Walk for Our Grandchildren,” community leaders, and members of sponsoring groups 350 Loudoun and the Chesapeake Climate Action Network.
Prange, former supervisor Andrea McGimsey, “Walk” organizer Kendall Hale and youth representatives were among the speakers during the rally.
