Watch Live Stream: Donald Trump Rally in Leesburg Late Sunday Night
Both Republican and Democratic presidential campaigns are returning to Northern Virginia in the final hours of the 2016 campaign.
LEESBURG, VA -- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will be returning to Northern Virginia on Sunday night. It's a surprising visit to a state that has long been abandoned by even the most hopeful GOP pundits. But polls have tightened in the state in recent weeks and Democrats are also putting resources to work in the state: vice presidential running mate Tim Kaine will hold two rallies in the state on Monday.
Trump will be speaking at 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Loudoun Fairgrounds, 17558 Dry Mill Rd. in Leesburg. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Get more info and tickets at Trump's website.
According to the RealClearPolitics average, Clinton is leading in Virginia by 4.3 percent. Clinton had peaked at a 13-point lead in the RCP average at the end of August, but the race has tightened since then. A Roanoke College poll released Friday gave Clinton a 7-point lead in the commonwealth.

Trump's visit comes as Rep. Barbara Comstock fights to defend her congressional seat in one of the hottest races in the country. A Republican, Comstock called on Trump to leave the race last month after a video surfaced of Trump describing, in vulgar, aggressive language, how he would force himself on women. The candidate later dismissed the conversation as locker-room talk, and he has denied attacking women.
Democratic candidate LuAnn Bennett is using Trump's visit to link Comstock to the top Republican on the ballot. Bennett planned to hold an afternoon news conference with House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer.

Nationally, the race remains a toss up. A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday showed Clinton leading Trump, 44 percent to 40 percent, in a four-way race that includes Libertarian Gary Johnson (6 percent) and the Green Party’s Jill Stein (2 percent).
