Driver Charged After Crashing Into Police Car, Driving Away: Police
A Leesburg man is charged with hit and run after authorities said he crashed into a Leesburg police cruiser and drove away on Sunday.

LEESBURG, VA — A man from Leesburg faces charges after authorities said he hit a police car and drove away on Sunday.
Police identified the man as 25-year-old D'Andre Jamison of Leesburg. He is charged with one count of felony hit and run and one count of misdemeanor reckless driving.
Jamison is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on these and other unrelated charges.

The crash occurred around 12 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Washington Street NE and Blue Ridge Avenue NE in Leesburg, the police department said. Authorities said a marked Leesburg police cruiser came to a complete stop at the intersection before turning left onto westbound Blue Ridge Avenue.
The police department claimed that another vehicle that was behind the police car "crossed the double yellow line and attempted to overtake the cruiser as it turned left," according to the police report. The vehicle hit the police cruiser on the front driver's side before speeding away.

The police officers said they did not chase the other vehicle due to safety concerns. Through an investigation, authorities identified the driver as Jamison.
