LEESBURG, VA — Leesburg police are searching for the driver of a car involved in what authorities described as a "road rage" hit-and-run near Heritage High School.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, officers attempted to stop the white two-door Chevrolet Camaro after it was involved in the incident near the school. The vehicle fled from officers, authorities said.

Police searched for the car but were unable to locate it.

No additional details were immediately available.

According to authorities, the Camaro has Texas license plates with tag number PP2024. It also has damage to the front driver's side quarter panel and rear passenger side quarter panel, police said.
