Heavy Traffic Expected For Black Friday In Leesburg

Authorities are warning residents and shoppers to prepare for heavy traffic delays throughout Leesburg on Black Friday.

LEESBURG, VA — Black Friday is coming to Leesburg. Authorities are urging residents and shoppers to prepare for heavy traffic conditions on Friday and throughout the weekend.

On Monday, the Leesburg Police Department issued a news release warning of heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the Leesburg Premium Outlets and other areas on Black Friday. Authorities expect congestion to continue through the weekend at the town's shopping centers.

"Heavy traffic is expected to cause traffic delays as traffic volume will exceed roadway capacity," the police department said. "During times of peak congestion, Leesburg police officers may direct motorists onto less congested secondary routes to ease traffic movement."
