House Fire Injures Two Adults In Purcellville: Authorities

Two adults were injured, one critically, in a Purcellville house, according to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue.

PURCELLVILLE, VA—Two adults were injured, one critically, in a house fire Wednesday night, June 26, in the 400 block of Heronwood Court, according to Loudoun County Fire and Rescue. In all, five occupants were displaced.

Shortly after 8 p.m., units responded to the scene for reported significant fire showing from the first floor of a single-family home. Upon arrival, firefighters spotted a person with significant burn injuries emerge from the residence. The victim was immediately assisted by police and bystanders until the arrival of emergency medical personnel.

Firefighters then entered the one-story home, found no one else inside and extinguished the flames within 15 minutes. Rescue units treated a second person with burn injuries, and both were taken to the Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

The fire is being investigated by the Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office and Purcellville Police.
