How To Recycle Christmas Trees In Ashburn In 2023
Residents looking to dispose of their Christmas trees can take their tree to any of five different facilities in Loudoun County.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Christmas is over in Loudoun County. Now, residents are having to deal with the husk of a tree left in their living rooms.
When your Christmas tree needs to go out on the curb depends on when you got it, what condition it's in, and whether it was properly watered.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, trees that dry out can pose a fire hazard. The association recommends residents do not leave dried out trees inside homes or garages, or placed against the home outside.

In Loudoun County, there are several options to get rid of that tree as we welcome the new year.
The Loudoun County government operates several drop-off centers for Christmas trees. The disposed trees will be made into mulch, which will then be available for free for Loudoun residents.

Residents can take trees to the following locations for recycling from the end of December through mid-January:
- Leesburg: Loudoun County Landfill Recycling Center, 21101 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, 20175.
- Lovettsville: Game Protective Association, 16 South Berlin Pike, Lovettsville, 20180.
- Purcellville: Franklin Park, 17501 Franklin Park Drive, Purcellville, 20132.
- South Riding: Town Hall, rear parking lot next to tennis court, 43055 Center Street, South Riding, 20152.
- Sterling: Claude Moore Park (use Loudoun Park Lane entrance), 46150 Loudoun Park Lane, Sterling, 20164.
Before setting out Christmas trees for recycling, remove all ornaments, tinsel and stands. Trees should not be placed in plastic bags.
