LCSO Creates Law Enforcement Application for Mobile Devices

A new app is now available for Loudoun County residents to submit crime tips, report crimes and traffic issues, and learn the latest public safety news in the county, Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman announced on September 30.
The app, available on the iTunes App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) will allow users who download the app to be able to submit crime tips anonymously, including the ability to send photos and videos from their smartphone, the news release explained.

The app is an important communication development for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, enhancing the agency’s ability to interact with the public and increase customer service through the use of technology,” said Loudoun Sheriff Chapman.
The new Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app will allow users who download the app to be able to submit crime tips anonymously, including the ability to send photos and videos from their smartphone.

Other features include:
- Filing Non-emergency crime reports through the agency’s online crime reporting system
- Filing a traffic complaint regarding speeding issues or other traffic safety concerns
- Viewing real-time information on traffic incidents dispatched by the LCSO
- Daily crime reports
- Reading the latest public safety news
- Learning of upcoming events held by the agency, such as community meetings.
- Signing up and receiving emergency alerts
- Citizen feedback, including commenting on the quality of service and following up on case information.
The release reminded residents to call 911 in cases where it is an emergency or if the crime is in progress or just occurred.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s App can be located on the iTunes App Store and Google Play by searching Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office on your smartphone.
