Leesburg Downtown Parking Garage Enhancements Have Started

Improvements to the parking garage are officially underway.

LEESBURG, VA – The Leesburg Town Council authorized the creation of a Downtown Parking Task Force in early 2015. The recommendations presented by the Task Force included improvements to the Town of Leesburg parking garage. Many of those enhancements have been implemented include the installation of updated thermoplast directional arrows, and mounting new reflective arrows to the existing overhead directional signs to provide clearer traffic pattern information. The walls and ramps on the first and second levels of the garage have been painted white to provide a brighter and cleaner appearance. Numerous parking spaces have been re-striped to allow for larger vehicles and greater accessibility.

The Commission of Public Art, with the support of the Leesburg Town Council, commissioned a bicycle mural that was designed by local artist Kevin Dunn and painted in part by local high school art students. The mural is located on the first level of the parking garage, on the right wall, when arriving from the Market Street entrance. The mural beautifies the space and promotes public art use of the adjacent bicycle rack
