Local Families Win Parade's 'Patriot Cup'

The Klemm and Smith families of Leesburg won this year's Patriot Cup, given annually to the top patriotic entry in the town's annual Independence Day Parade on July 4.

To win the fifth annual competition, the families entered the parade as the "Patriotic Pedalers," wearing red white and blue from head to toe (including wigs), pulling children in decorated trailers behind them.

For earning the award, sponsored by Leesburg Today, the families' names will be engraved in the cup, which is on display in the Leesburg Town Hall.
