Local Sons of the American Revolution Chapters March in the Brunswick Veterans Day Parade
SAR Honors All Veterans In the 93rd Annual Brunswick Parade
The Sgt. Maj. John Champe and Col. James Wood II Chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution proudly honored our nation’s veterans by participating in the 93rd Annual Brunswick Veterans Day Parade. The SAR Color Guard led the procession, followed closely by the award-winning Spirit of Liberty float.
The SAR Spirit of Liberty mobile diorama paid tribute to the founders of the Colonial Navy and Colonial Marines. With the ringing of a 3/8-scale Liberty Bell replica, its resounding tone carried the enduring message of freedom and liberty for all to hear. A six-foot Statue of Liberty replica, with her torch held high, symbolized the Light of Liberty—shining through darkness as a beacon of hope to the world.
Leading the display and riding upon the float were direct descendants of Colonial Patriots, united in their commitment to the SAR Mission Statement: to honor our Revolutionary War patriot ancestors by promoting patriotism, serving our communities, and educating and inspiring future generations about the founding principles of our country.
