Man Assaults Cop, Barricades Himself In Lovettsville Home: LCSO
A man is being held for a mental-health evaluation after assaulting a deputy and then barricading himself inside a Lovettsville home: LCSO.

LOVETTSVILLE, VA—A man is being held for a mental-health evaluation after assaulting a deputy with a metal chair Tuesday, March 19, and then barricading himself inside part of a home in the 41000 block of Yakey Lane, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., police responded to the home for an Emergency Custody Order after being contacted by family members concerned about the man's his well-being. When a deputy arrived, the man attacked him with the chair and then retreated to an interior place in the home.
He refused to come out, and a Crisis Negotiations Team arrived to deal with the barricade situation. After about three hours, the man surrendered without incident and was taken to a local hospital for mental-health examinations. Police say an assault charge is pending.
