Man Hit By Vehicle In Leesburg Suffered Serious Injuries: Police

A vehicle hit a pedestrian in Leesburg on Wednesday night. Police said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and is in stable condition.

LEESBURG, VA — A pedestrian suffered serious injuries when a vehicle hit him in Leesburg on Wednesday night, according to the police department.

Authorities have only identified the victim as an adult man. He is now in stable condition at an area hospital, the Leesburg Police Department said.

Police identified the driver as an adult woman. She remained on the scene after the crash and is cooperating with the police investigation. No charges have been filed.

The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday near Edwards Ferry Road NE and Heritage Way NE, police said. The woman was driving eastbound on Edwards Ferry Road when she hit the man who was crossing the street heading southbound on Heritage Way.

Authorities did not say whether the man was in a crosswalk the vehicle hit him.
