Pedestrian Struck In Leesburg, Police Seek Witnesses

LEESBURG, VA — A vehicle hit a pedestrian in Leesburg on Saturday morning, the town's police department said in a news release. Authorities are now looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the crash.

The Leesburg Police Department did not provide any identifying details about the pedestrian. They suffered serious injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the police report.

The driver, an adult male, stayed at the scene after the crash. The police department has not publicly announced any criminal charges.

The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday outside the Leesburg Public Safety Center on Plaza Street NE. Investigators said the vehicle was travelling northbound when it struck the pedestrian who was in a marked crosswalk.

One lane of Plaza Street NE remained closed for multiple hours on Saturday morning for the investigation.
