LEESBURG, VA — Authorities have released surveillance photos of a man who robbed a bank in Leesburg on Monday afternoon.

The Leesburg Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the man, who is still at large.

Investigators said he is a Black man between 25 and 35 years old. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a Nike long-sleeve shirt, black pants, and a blue surgical mask.

The robbery occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Witnesses told police that the robber used a note to demand cash. The bank teller cooperated and the robber left the building after taking the money, authorities said.

"There was a significant police presence due to the nature of the crime and search efforts to locate the suspect," the Leesburg Police Department said in a news release. "The Leesburg Police Department would like to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Virginia State Police, and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance."
