Sewer Main Break Prompts Request For Leesburg Residents

Residents are being asked to limit their water use following a sewer-main break Friday morning in Leesburg.

LEESBURG, VA—Residents are being asked to limit their water use following a sewer-main break Friday morning, May 24, in the Cattail Branch area near the intersection of Potomac Station Drive and Longhouse Place, according to town officials. Drinking water is not affected.

The spill, discovered around 6:15 a.m., has been contained and crews are on site. Leesburg Utilities customers in the affected area are requested to limit toilet flushing, bathing, laundry, dishwashing, and other household uses. Neighborhoods in the Cattail Branch service area include:

  • Carrvale
  • Cooke’s Crossing
  • Edwards Landing
  • Exeter
  • Exeter Hills
  • Fox Chase
  • Lakes at Red Rock/Northlake
  • Lansdowne on the Potomac (west of Goose Creek)
  • Potomac Crossing
  • Potomac Station Apartments
  • River Creek
  • River Pointe
  • Spring Lakes
  • The Point at Loudoun Apartments
