Shooting Suspect Arrested In Leesburg: Police
A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one man seriously injured over the weekend in Leesburg, police said.
LEESBURG, VA — A Sunday shooting left one person seriously injured in Leesburg, the Leesburg Police Department said.
The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries that were not life-threatening, authorities said. He suffered a gunshot wound and several cuts to his upper body.
On Tuesday, investigators said they charged 19-year-old Marcos Antonio Sorto-Argueta in connection with the shooting. He is charged with one count of felony aggravated malicious wounding. The police department said more charges could be filed later.

If convicted, Sorto-Argueta could spend the rest of his life in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The shooting occurred around 4 a.m. on Sunday in the 0-99 block of Hancock Place NE in Leesburg. First responders found the injured victim and took him to an area hospital for treatment, according to the police department.

Authorities said Sorto-Argueta and the victim knew each other.
