- A substitute teacher named Rhiannon Blakeman, aged 28 from Leesburg has been charged with public intoxication and possessing alcoholic beverages on public school grounds at Tuscarora High School. The incident occurred in the school's cafeteria, and the Leesburg Police Department School Resource Officer responded to a report of the intoxicated substitute teacher. Blakeman is currently being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing. (Leesburg Government)
- A new themed playground has opened at the Douglass Community Center in Leesburg. The playground features various installations, including a "Hall of Heroes" inspired by the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The grand opening event allowed children to be the first to try out the new playground. The Douglass High School Education and Development Campus in Leesburg has also been rededicated. - Leesburg Police are investigating reports of gunfire that damaged two vehicles in town. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Meadows Lane NE and the parking lot of a property in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, was seen discharging a firearm. No injuries were reported, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Leesburg Police Department. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

- Officer Bill Wolff and Carrie Curry, two long-serving employees of the Town of Leesburg with a combined service of nearly 70 years, were seen conversing at the Finance Counter together. It marked a bittersweet occasion, as it is Curry's final day with the Town, and Officer Wolff will also be retiring at the end of next month. Thank you both for all you do! - Congrats to the Tuscarora soccer team for their victory! Tuscarora secured a 1-0 victory over Park View in an eventful Dulles District Championship game on May 23. (Viva Loudoun via Instagram)
- There was an ongoing house fire in the 13800 block of Freedom Center Lane in nearby Lucketts yesterday. Units quickly arrived on the scene and worked together to deal with a single-family dwelling that was visibly on fire. (Loudoun Career Fire Fighters Association - IAFF Local 3756 via Facebook)
