LEESBURG, VA — The Arc of Loudoun is hosting a They Might Be Giants fundraising concert in October. The concert will be part of the organization's Shocktober Haunt Party on Oct. 8.

This year, the Arc of Loudoun will not host their annual haunted house at Carlheim Manor in Leesburg. The manor's stewards removed the building the building from the Arc's lease, the organization announced earlier this week.

The They Might Be Giants performance will be part of the Arc's Shocktober Haunt Party at the International Training Center in Leesburg. The organizers hope that the concert and party will make up for some of the lost revenue.

Lisa Kimball is the CEO of the Arc of Loudoun. "Because the need for advocacy, education, therapy, and support for people with disabilities and their families in our region continues to grow exponentially, we needed to find a creative way to raise funds without our beloved haunted house," she said.

Organizers described the party as a "PG-13 extravaganza" with food, beverages, and live music. Costumes are encouraged.

General admission tickets start at $40. Seats are available for $50 or $65, and the "Really Important People (R.I.P)" package is $125 per person.

"The Arc is very excited about teaming with our amazing partners Ion International Training Center and, of course, They Might Be Giants to bring our Haunt Party and Concert to life and raise much-needed funds to serve our community," she said in a news release.

Kimball told Patch that not having the annual Shocktober Haunt will lose the organization $500,000 in revenue this year.

"The owners of Paxton Campus, who have donated use of the property to The Arc of Loudoun since 2008, have plans to bring multiple non-profit organizations that serve children onto the campus” she said. “As a result, Carlheim Manor is no longer available for The Arc’s use, leaving us without a place to hold our award-winning Haunted House, Shocktober."

Presale tickets will be available for Shocktober fans on Aug. 6. Other tickets will go on sale on Aug. 12.
