Tractor-Trailer Fire Shuts Down Route 267 Eastbound Lanes: Police

LEESBURG, VA — A tractor-trailer caught fire in Leesburg on Wednesday morning, Virginia State Police officials said. The fire shut down the eastbound lanes of Route 267.

No injuries were reported in the fire. At 12:30 p.m., Loudoun fire and rescue officials said crews were still extinguishing hot spots.

The fire began around 9:22 a.m. near exit 2, authorities said. The driver of the tractor-trailer pulled over after noticing heavy smoke from a rear axel.

The driver disconnected the cab from the trailer as flames spread through the vehicle, the police report said.
