1. Today: The annual Workhouse Clay National Ceramics Exhibition 2013 begins today at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton. The exhibition, which will be held from now until Sept. 8, is an “Open Call” for functional and/or sculptural ceramic artworks. The pieces will be judged by Virginia Scotchie, is a head of ceramics at the University of South Carolina. The public reception for the show will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2013.
2. You Said It: "The business is old, the facility is old, I'm old and I'm not going to live forever,” said Glenn Gates, owner of the Lazy Susan Dinner Theater and Skinifatz Nightspot in Lorton. “I will eventually get older and more tired. But we're here now, and we're going strong."
