• State, federal legislators look to address speed enforcement on GW Parkway (ffxnow.com) — Speed enforcement changes on the George Washington Memorial Parkway could eventually affect drivers in southeastern Fairfax County, including the Lorton and Mason Neck area represented by Sen. Scott Surovell. Federal and state lawmakers are pushing new authority for speed cameras and for Fairfax County police to help enforce traffic laws on the parkway’s southern stretch, citing persistent speeding and crash concerns despite recent safety upgrades.
