"Rescue Me" at the Workhouse Arts Center

The Workhouse Arts Center is pleased to announce “Rescue Me,” an exciting art exhibit dedicated to dogs and cats that have been rescued from shelters and homelessness. Artists Julie Hart and Charla Wilkerson combine their love for animals with their passion for art in this colorful and heartwarming display.

Where: The Vulcan Gallery at Building 16 of the Workhouse Arts Center

Dates: February 6 – March 6, 2012 

Reception: February 11, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Wilkerson’s bold, whimsical paintings are a tribute to her love of her own rescued pets and their often-hilarious ways.

Hart combines abstraction, impressionism and realism in her heart-tugging portraits of rescue animals and their rescuers.

A portion of sales will be donated to local animal groups that rescue unwanted dogs and cats from shelters.
