Laurel Hill Golf Club Named a Top Municipal Golf Course in U.S.

Laurel Hill was ranked on of the best municipal golf courses in the U.S by GolfWeek Magazine.

GolfWeek Magazine has named Laurel Hill Golf Club one of the top municipal golf courses in the country. Laurel Hill is listed among courses including Bethpage Black, Torrey Pines, Chambers Bay, and Butterfield Trail.

According to the Fairfax County Park Authority, Laurel Hill Golf Club was designed by Bill Love, who also designed the Iron Forge Course at Penn National and Hunting Hawk in Glen Allen. The 18-hole course is built on land that formerly belonged to the D.C. Department of Corrections.

"Love’s design allowed the natural beauty of the landscape to dictate the character of the course. Rolling wooded hills and architectural remnants of the former prison add to Laurel Hill’s stunning beauty," the FCPA statement reads.
