1. Today: Want to celebrate the end of Ramadan in style? You can at the second annual Chand Raat celebration at Lorton Station Town Center on Tues., Aug. 7, 2013.
2. You Said It: “There is no scenario, never has been and never will be a scenario in which the current activities on this campus would generate sufficient money to pay $2.8 million per year in bond debt, in addition to the normal expenses for operating the place,” said John Mason, CEO of the Workhouse Arts Center to resident artists over the finances of the nonprofit. “Therefore, there has to be a negotiation between the county (which owns the land) and the bank.”

4. Number of the Day: 11. That’s the age of Muscular Dystrophy Association ambassador Joshua Jurack. Diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Joshua has raised more than $100,000 for the organization in the past six years. He was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship by Kohls.
