ā¢ Home declared total loss in Madison Heights fire, officials say (wset.com) ā A Madison Heights-area home on Brightwells Mill Road was destroyed by a Monday morning fire, with officials estimating $250,000 in damage but reporting no injuries. An Amherst County sheriffās sergeant first spotted the smoke, prompting a full county fire response and a defensive attack before crews moved inside. The Amherst County Fire Marshalās Office is still investigating the cause. 
ā¢ Board OKs telehealth policy, updated on Amherst high school renovation (newsadvance.com) ā Amherst County Public Schools, which serve many Madison Heights families, has approved a new telehealth-style policy to expand school-based mental health therapy services. Board members also received a detailed update on the long-running Amherst County High School renovation, including new nursing program space and other facility upgrades that will shape studentsā daily learning environment.
