MANASSAS, VA—A man suspected of having overdosed on drugs was arrested Saturday, April 20, in the Prince William Medical Center at 8700 Sudley Road after kicking and biting officers, according to Prince William County Police. Charles Henry Ziegler, 34, of the 10600 block of Provincial Drive, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of a schedule I-IV narcotic and resisting arrest.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police were dispatched to the hospital for a reported overdose. They found that Ziegler was transported there because rescue personnel believed he was under the influence of an illegal substance. When hospital staff members tried to speak with him, he became disorderly.

Then, when officers tried to detain him, he resisted by kicking and biting them. Following a brief struggle, Ziegler was subdued and arrested. Minor injuries were reported by an officer.
