• Only two Manassas City schools rated 'On Track' under Virginia's new performance system (potomaclocal.com) — Manassas City families are learning that only Osbourn High and Weems Elementary earned an “On Track” rating under Virginia’s new school performance system, even though all schools remain accredited. Several campuses showed improvement, but Metz Middle, Round Elementary, Dean Elementary, and Baldwin Intermediate face serious achievement concerns, with Round flagged for intensive federal support among the state’s lowest-performing Title I schools.
   

• Woodbridge, Manassas to see nearly 500 new homes after supervisors' approval (insidenova.com) — Nearly 500 new homes are coming to the greater Manassas and Woodbridge areas after Prince William supervisors approved the King’s Grove and Avera II rezonings. Both projects add townhomes, multifamily units, and several dozen income-restricted apartments, plus amenities like parks, clubhouses, and co-working spaces, reshaping nearby neighborhoods and traffic patterns for Manassas-area residents.
