Manassas Mayor Faces Challenger, 3 City Council Seats Up For Election In November
Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger faces a contested re-election bid, and six candidates are running for three Manassas City Council seats.

MANASSAS, VA — Manassas Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger will face a re-election challenge, and six candidates are running for three Manassas City Council seats in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election.
In the mayoral race, Democratic Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger is seeking re-election. Republican Xiao-Yin "Tang" Byrom is challenging the incumbent. Davis-Younger, who was previously elected to the city council in 2019, also ran the human resources consulting firm The1ForHR, LLC. Byrom is owner of Tang's Bridal Alterations & Bespoke. A mayoral forum will be hosted by the Prince William Chamber on Oct. 1 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in person at the Manassas Museum and virtually.
The Manassas City Council is made up of six members, and three of the seats are up for election in 2024. The councilmembers' four-year terms are staggered, which means elections are held every two years for three seats. Members are elected at large, so voters will cast a ballot for up to three candidates in November's election.
