Police Seek Suspect in Manassas Taxi Robbery Spree

PWC Police are searching for a suspect in connection with three taxi cab robberies that took place Sunday and Monday in Manassas.

Prince William County Police are investigating a string of three related taxi robberies in Manassas, the most recent of which took place on Ashton Avenue near Sudley manor Drive Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to investigate a robbery involving a cab driver around 2:57 p.m. Monday. The suspect reportedly displayed a knife and took money from the driver before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a 20 to 25-year-old 6’0”, 160-170 pound black male with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police believe the suspect is also involved in two similar taxi cab robberies that took place Sunday.

Officials responded to the area of Notre Dame Street and Hiram Court in Manassas to investigate a robbery Sunday afternoon involving a cab driver.

The victim, a 46-year-old Manassas man, told police he had picked up a fare at the Manassas Costco around 1:24 p.m. After picking up the suspect, the victim reportedly drove him to the above area. Once stopped, the suspect pulled out a knife and took an undisclosed amount of money and a cellphone from the victim before fleeing on foot.

Around 6:13 p.m., officers responded to the Blendia Lane and Ashton Avenue area in Manassas to investigate another incident involving a cab driver. The victim, a 43-year-old Manassas man, told police he picked up a fare and drove to the above area where the suspect displayed a knife and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled on foot.

No injuries were reported in any of the three incidents. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect in all three robberies.
