MANASSAS PARK, VA — Federal funds are coming to the City of Manassas Park. The funds, which were included in the most recent spending bill, will be used to improve security measures in the city.

In a news release, Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner said the funds would be used to install traffic cameras and increase security measures at several government buildings.

As directed in the spending bill, the federal funds for the City of Manassas Park would be used for a public safety and security project. Specifically, the funds would be used to replace security systems at the city's police department, fire department, city hall, and community center.

The project would also include the purchase and installation of nine security cameras for placement at intersections throughout the city. Officials hope that the cameras would increase response times the Manassas Park Police Department as they respond to serious incidents or crashes at the intersections.
