Attempted Murder Reported In Manassas Park: Police

MANASSAS PARK, VA — A man was cut by his brother several times in Manassas Park on Sunday, the city's police department said in a news release.

Authorities identified the victim as 20-year-old Manassas Park resident. The Manassas Park Police Department did not provide any details about his condition on Monday.

The victim's brother, 33-year-old Jose Delcid-Delcid, was arrested after the incident on Sunday evening. He is charged with attempted second-degree murder, malicious wounding, and domestic assault and battery. Delcid-Delcid is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.

If convicted of all charges, Delcid-Delcid could face up to 31 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.

The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday at a home on Overhill Drive, the police department said in a report. Authorities said Delcid-Delcid had an argument with his 20-year-old brother that escalated.

When police officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim suffering from "several lacerations," the police report said. First responders took the suspect into custody one-quarter of a mile away from the home.

"This continues to be an active investigation," the police department wrote on Facebook. "Due to the ongoing investigation, certain details will not be released."

Sunday's attempted murder is the second violent incident in Manassas Park within a week, the city's police department said. On Tuesday, a 25-year-old man was fatally shot in a home on Jessica Drive.

A suspect, Anthony Andrade, was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center.
