"To this point in the investigation, we have obtained and executed in excess of 10 warrants and hundreds of hours of interviews related to this case," Lugo said in a statement. "My staff continues to work tirelessly following up on each and every lead."
On Aug. 2, police went to Kafle Bhatt's home for a welfare check and spoke with her husband, who at the time did not want to report her missing, authorities said. She had last been seen by her husband two days earlier, according to police.
Friends and family said Kafle Bhatt, a nurse, would not leave her 11-month-old baby behind, the Washington Post reported.
On Aug. 5, Kafle Bhatt's husband contacted police and reported her missing.
In the following days, police determined Kafle Bhatt had not contacted her friends, family or employer, UVA Health Prince William Medical Center. As a result, authorities elevated her missing person status to critical.
In a statement released Wednesday, Lugo said the case remains a "top priority" for Manassas Park police.
Kafle Bhatt is described as 5 feet tall and 132 pounds. She has black hair and dark brown eyes.
