The following statement is attributable to Marty Nohe, President, Appliance Connection, Treasurer and Chair for Government Affairs Committee for the Prince William Chamber of Commerce.

“The hearing last week showed why businesses and workers across the Commonwealth should be alarmed about the PRO Act and its impact on our growing economy and strong workforce.”

Marty Nohe continued, “The PRO Act would permanently harm our state’s economy by repealing right-to-work protections, forcing Virginians to pay union dues as a condition of employment, which especially impacts the ability for small and local businesses to operate and will hurt our ability to continue recruiting businesses to the region.”

“One survey showed that Virginia voters are deeply concerned about the impact the PRO Act would have on them. Nearly eight and 10 voters are concerned about repealing Virginia’s right-to-work law and seven in 10 voters are concerned about its impact on worker privacy and independent contractors,” stated Mr. Nohe.

“We are thankful for Senator Warner’s continued support of Virginia’s businesses and workers by not supporting the PRO Act,” Marty Nohe concluded.
