10 Runners from McLean Complete 2014 Boston Marathon

Ten runners from McLean completed the Boston Marathon Monday, one year after explosions rocked the event, taking lives and injuring hundreds of runners and spectators.

In all, eight men and two women from McLean ran the 26.2-mile race. The top local finisher was Jim Moore, who ran the marathon in 3:08:52.

One man from Northern Virginia was a top-50 finisher: Michael R. Wardian of Arlington finished in 2:23:32 for 44th place overall.

Ultramarathoner and Arlington resident Frank Fumich also ran and finished in 3:36:02. Fumich ran with his Florida-based friend Matt Nelson from the Pentagon to the finish line of the Boston Marathon last year to raise money for Boston Marathon bombing victims.
