Heavy Haul Delivery to Fisher Avenue Beginning Monday, Dec. 5; Flaggers on Site for Safety
On or about Monday, Dec. 5, contractors for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project will deliver a large crane to the work site along Fisher Avenue in the Brilyn Park neighborhood of Falls Church, with a and prefabricated train control room (TCR) to follow on Dec. 6. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
Thru traffic on Fisher Avenue will be reduced to one lane during the times when the crane is moved to the site, and when the TCR is delivered and set into place. Flaggers will be on site to direct thru traffic and ensure residents' safety Monday, Dec. 5 through Thursday, Dec. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to noon (if necessary).
The TCR will arrive on a large flatbed via I-495, Route 123 north, to Great Falls Street, then on to Fisher Avenue. The flatbed will exit the neighborhood by driving down Fisher Avenue to Westmoreland Street because there is no place to turn around at the work site.
