Beltway, Route 7 Overnight Closings Up to 30 minutes This Week

Here's a list of this week's traffic dramas in Tysons Corner and McLean brought to you by the twin  construction of the Metro and the new toll express  (formerly known as HOT) lanes down the middle of the Capital Beltway through Tysons Corner.

I-495 north just after Old Dominion Dr. overpass – Three lanes closed Friday and Saturday nights for bridge joint work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at I-495 - Three right lanes closed Tuesday night for sign work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

I-495 north and south from Exit 50, Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) to Exit 46, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) - Three lanes closed Sunday - Saturday nights for painting, paving and traffic shift. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Temporary Road Shift of Northbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) Friday Night
 
Crews will shift the northbound lanes of Route 123 overnight Friday, May 11 near Scotts Crossing Road to allow for pedestrian bridge work in the median. The left thru lane of northbound Route 123 will be closed between the ramp coming off of I-495 and Scotts Crossing Road from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday night.
 
Additionally, the left turn lanes from northbound Route 123 onto Scotts Crossing Road will be closed Friday from 10:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.
 
Detour: To access Scotts Crossing Road, turn right on Old Meadow Road, turn left on Colshire Meadow Drive, then turn left on Colshire Drive and go straight through the intersection of Route 123.

Left Turns from Eastbound Route 7 on to Spring Hill Road Closed Overnights
 
Crews will implement the closure of left turn lanes from eastbound Leesburg Pike (Route 7) on to northbound Spring Hill Road between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday, May 7 through Thursday, May 10, and 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday, May 11 to allow for precast concrete installation at Tysons West Station.
 
Detour: To access northbound Spring Hill Road from eastbound Route 7, continue on Route 7, U-turn at Westpark Drive or International Drive, then follow westbound Route 7.
 
Intersection of Route 7 and Westwood Center Drive/Tyco Road to Close Overnights
 
Acoustical panel installation will cause the intersection of westbound Route 7 and Westwood Center Drive/Tyco Road to close nightly beginning Sunday, May 6 through Thursday, May 10 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday, May 11, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Turn Lanes from Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) onto Tysons Boulevard to Close Overnights
 
The turn lanes from both directions of Route 123 onto Tysons Boulevard will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, May 7 through Thursday, May 10, and from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 due to overhead station work in the area.
Southbound Route 123 motorists should continue on Route 123, turn right on International Drive, then right on Galleria Drive to access Tysons Boulevard.

Northbound Route 123 motorists should turn left on International Drive, then right on Galleria Drive to access Tysons Boulevard.

Overnight Lane Closures Near Capital One Entrance Monday Through Friday
