Best-Selling Author To Cut Ribbon Of Popular Bookstore Returning To Tysons Corner Center
A popular bookstore that closed its Tysons Corner Center location in 2024 will be returning with the help of a bestselling author.
TYSONS, VA — A year after Barnes & Noble closed its bookstore in Tysons Corner Center in McLean, the bookseller will be reopening a new store at the mall with the help of a best-selling author.
When the new store officially opens to the public at 10 a.m on Wednesday, June 18, author David Baldacci will help cut the ribbon and sign copies of his books, including his news release, “Strangers in Time.”
“We are very pleased to return to the Tyson’s Corner Center where we have proudly served readers for nearly 20 years,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “Our McLean booksellers are excited to be back and are especially pleased to welcome customers into such a unique and beautifully designed Barnes & Noble.”

Located on the mall’s first floor across from H&M, the new bookstore will be smaller than the retailer’s former location in the mall, which occupied two floors before closing in 2024. However, the store will have the same number of bookcases and will feature Barnes & Nobles’ wide selection of books, toys, games and gifts, as well as an updated B&N Café.
“I am excited to bring Barnes & Noble back to Tysons Corner Center and the McLean community,” said Store Manager Mike Doliani, longtime Barnes & Noble bookseller. “We are bringing an exceptional bookstore in one of America’s great stand-out malls.”
