Car Slams into McLean Beauty Salon

11:30 AM. UPDATE: Frank Eaton, owner of the 5o-year-old building, said the Salon Kenan has leased the space for five years. The shop will likely be closed for one week while repairs are completed. Eaton said he does not have an damage estimate.

Eaton said a salon client was arriving for an appointment. She was driving a vehicle she was "unfamiliar" with, he said, and accidentally pressed the gas pedal, instead of the brake pedal, crashing into the storefront.

ORIGINAL STORY. A Lexus drove through the front window of a McLean beauty shop shortly after 8 am. Tuesday morning.

Here are the early details: A Lexus hatchback  apparently drove off the road into the front window of in the Eaton Centre at the intersection of Old Dominion Drive and Spring Hill Road, according to the Fairfax County Fire Department.

One unidentified woman was taken to the hospital, the fire department said.

The impact of the crash left a crack in the brick facade of the beauty shop. The firemen were shoring up the building to make sure it was safe. A county building inspector was his way to inspect the building to insure it was safe, the fire department said.

Fairfax County police were at the scene but gave no details of the accident.
